The Man After the Heart of his People

In years to come the thumbnail profile of His Excellency Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D, the governor-elect of Abia State, will be:
“The MOG Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.d, The ex-governor of Abia State, universally called Mr. Jinx breaker, the man who transpose the famous dirt and infrastructural deficits commercial city of Africa, ABA, to International reckoning”.
His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.d.
Linking and teaming up with the campaign team of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D (OVI), months ago was one fortunate opportunity I met with last year. The auspicious day was the day Ukwa-Ngwa geographic coalition of Abia State had a one-million-man march to Umuahia and presented Dr.Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to Gov. Chief T.A Orji as the choice of the Ukwa-Ngwa people to succeed him as the governor of Abia State. I was in Umuahia with a friend for an engagement and we witnessed the roadblock, then the journalistic aptitude in us led us to join the procession to the entrance of Abia State Government house where the presentation was done.

The Chief Spokesman of the group, Senator Adolf Wabara, former Senate President of Nigeria said they were at the government house to present OVI as the Ukwa-Ngwa chosen candidate and they are asking him; Gov. T.A Orji to adopt him and back him to succeed him.

Gov. T.A Orji, the Ochendo Global as he is fondly called by his numerous supporters replied them that he can only support him if he is chosen as PDP governorship candidate for the Abia State Gubernatorial polls (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb-6K4ukLbk Click link and watch the video). The governor also told them that the task ahead of them is to mobilize their people to cast their votes for OVI and make sure he becomes the PDP flag-bearer then they can be sure of his support.

6 months down the line, the process is now history. OVI is now the Governor-elect of Abia State. All was not as easy as written, It was not really by his might or weight like OVI always ends every of his campaign speech with the song, “O bughi m ji Onwe m O..." - which is simply translated as, It is not me that holds myself, it is HIS grace that held me so that I will not fall. (It is not by my might but by his grace)” as implied.

Each time I reflect on OVI emergence as PDP flag bearer and his victory at the polls, two people comes to mind; The Biblical King David (DAVID), the shepherd boy whose father was Jesse and Theodore Roosevelt (TEDDY), the 26th USA President.

DAVID faced much opposition before he became the most celebrated king of the ancient Israel. In his family, he was the youngest son and he comes last in preference order, in the bush, he overpowered the Lion and Deer, At war for his Nation though a teenager he defeated Goliath, at the Palace, he handled Saul who wanted to take his life by all means. He crushed many far and near territorial Kings in battles and He also overcame internal family legacies and life-threatening battles. Overcoming all this mountainous opposition made DAVID dear to his people and God, to which God calls him “Man after My Heart”.

OVI The Man on a Mission to use his battles as a stepping tool
Let’s always remember that it was a time when the Israelite needed someone who will remove the national reproach that has taunted them- Goliath, that the man DAVID arose from the obscurity of Judean bush and surmounted the challenge. I believe Abians' have come to such time and we are looking for that man that will take us to the new heights and among the entire Ngwa race a Ph.d holder, formally carrying dirt for Aba populaces has been chosen to reposition Abia State.

Siting another example in modern times, TEDDY is a pure remarkable OVI person; Passionate and Progressive. TEDDY as President worked to ensure that the government improved the lives of American citizens. His "Square Deal" domestic program reflected the progressive call to reform the American workplace, initiating welfare legislation and government regulation of industry. He was also the nation's first environmentalist President.
While going through all the things the 26th American president achieved as USA Chief Executive, I feel excited that OVI will do same in Abia State. Their simple affinity which is their key similarities though may sound funny has helped my analytical view: Teddy and OVI wear a goggle with rope and both came to power at the most national and state’s infrastructure and economic-power challenging era. Similar traits I also didn't fail to notice are passion, hard work and humility.

TEDDY is a pure remarkable OVI person

Few days after OVI was declared winner, his main campaign mercenaries with over 15,000 members- Neighbors4Okezie, set a 53 Critical Aba roads development agenda for him. It is of no mere job to be Abia State governor looking at the 53 roads agenda to be built just in Aba alone not to talk of all other parts of Abia State. Taking to mind OVI's belief in the grace of God on surmounting any form of challenge he faces and this can be attributed to his humility and gratitude towards God and man. There are things you can’t teach a man; a proud man is egocentric but a humble man puts God and people first.

Grace!!! Grace is sovereign, it is free, it is sure, it is unconditional, and it is everlasting.” ~ Alexander Whyte. Grace is Divine.

Truly, grace saw OVI through the tough election amongst other worthy candidates both at the party level and state level even when he was believed to be the least qualified Financially, Vocationally and Government Office “weight” he was over qualified in “Grace”. In actual sense, He is the Man of Grace.

A Man-of-God understands God's move and take appropriate action.
No wonder that in a venue filled with over 3,000 people only one person felt His move
and knelt down  in absolute reverence to God.
As for me, I believe in this grace and I am sure it will be a déjà vu
(the feeling that you have already experienced something that is actually happening for the first time) to many it maybe a case of onu kwuru njo ga ekwu nma (The mouth that said evil will later confess well) and some others it will be "Whoa"!!! (To express surprise or express astonishment or taken over with surprise of good effect all around you). Now, decide which group you fall into. In all don’t forget when addressing the Abia State Governor-elect, put the suffix MOG;
The MOG His Excellency Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.d.

It is with great pleasure i invite you all on board to watch the amazing transformations in God's own State as the MOG takes over and brings to fulfillment all he promised and more, till then I in particular will be watching all activities in 3D.
